It’s hard to believe that the season has ended so quickly.  It seemed just like yesterday we were signing those little ones up to play.  As I reflect back onto the season we have so many things to be thankful for.  We offered Charlestown children the opportunity to be coached by the best coaches in this area.  We offered them the opportunity to learn the same defense and offense the middle and high school teams are running.  We offered them a place that they could come to where everyone accepted them and enjoyed calling them a team mate.  We had parents that stepped up and got involved and really showed how much smother things could run with enough people to do the work.  We had cheerleaders yelling for their teams and parents yelling for victory.  While our season went well and our All Stars went even better I can’t help but feel sad about it ending.  The sadness comes from knowing that we have several dedicated members of our board and coaching staff that is hanging up their CLPFA hats and moving on.  Kevin Christman our Sr. White coach as well as our Equipment/Player Agent is retiring from our league.  Kevin has been dedicated to making this a league Charlestown could be proud of for many years.  He has spent a lot of time and hours teaching the children of our community about football.  Kevin will be missed not only by his players, but by the board as well.  Thank you Kevin for everything you have done.  David Daniel our Sr. Blue coach is hanging up his hat and moving on to bigger things.  As most of you know David has been assisting at the Middle school and now that his youngest son Eli is heading to the 7^th grade next year he will be focused on coaching there.  David has been coaching for CLPFA for many many years and has watched and even coached a huge number of players that are still involved in the middle and high school programs.  David will be truly missed at all levels of our league.  While Kim Daniel has agreed to stay on as our treasurer (which took a lot of begging) she has made it clear that she will be unable to help on game days and will not be able to spend the hundreds of hours that she has been putting into the league each year.  While I fully understand her needing to step back and take a breath I am so incredibility thankful that she has agreed to help us with the treasurer position.  This league is organized and structured because of all of her hard work.. thanks Kim!!  Our three banquets were successes and we feel everyone had a wonderful time.. Thank you for coming out and celebrating with us.

As we prepare for next season and continuing on with CLFPA traditions we will be looking for ways to improve the league and make it even better.  Don’t be surprised with all the changes… whether they are new faces… new teams… new whatever.. It’s still Pirate Pride no matter how you dress it up.   See you next year!!!
